School roofing projects 2011
With a ready supply of trained workers coming from MCV’s vocational programs, Solace has been able to complete several school projects in the last few years. With the generous donations from Worldstock.com, 2011 has been no exception. We expect to finish at least three school renovation projects by the end of the year, including:
- Makawa Primary School: Kenyan mason Raphael “RaLuph” Gwara completed this project, located in the Mamiasi Village, with the assistance of just one full-time mason and one helper. There were some logistics problems with getting supplies to the site, as well as a misunderstanding with local police, but all the issues have been overcome and the roof is up.
- Luwanda Primary School: Located within a few kilometers of Makawa, this project has gone smoothly and was expected to be completed by the end of May 2011.
