Celebrating their 10th anniversary, Juan Diego Catholic High School will be hosting representatives from Solace International at a series of presentations about their work in Kenya with orphans of AIDS. Juan Diego has made a laudable commitment to raise funds for a new vocational campus on the island of Mbita, kenya for Kenyan teen girls who have been orphaned by HIV. Students, parents ad the public are welcome to attend any of the eight sessions at the campus chapel.
Video and photographs of works in the field will be presented by Solace CEO Nate York. Solace Director for Africa Simon Okelo, and Field Project Manager Benjamin Odera – both from Kenya, will be on hand to answer questions. The school community will do this in gratitude for the gift of its facility made possible by Mr. & Mrs. Sam Skaggs; and in appreciation of Patrick Byrne and others whose gifts have made Catholic education accessible to those without the means.
Oct. 5 and 6, from 8:00-2:40 each day
